An irritated frown was not Violet's favourite facial expression. It was, however, the one that better fit her current mood, because she had not been amused by her mother's sudden craving for strawberry cheesecake ice cream; Violet was the teenager, and thus the one supposed to go on random ice cream sprees, not a forty-something-year-old woman. To make things even worse, Rebecca had insisted on one of the few flavours her daughter could not steal a spoonful or two of, due to her allergy to anything and everything with strawberry in it, no mater how processed or vestigial.
As she made her way to shop, Violet could not keep herself from ranting in hushed tones about her mother's temporary insanity. In any other occasion, the girl would have bitched and moaned but done as she was asked without further expressing her distaste, but this had to be the coldest, chilliest day in the history of Brookside, and the Powers That Be had had no mercy. The wind was blowing harshly against her unprotected face, causing her to squint in an effort to keep her eyes from tearing up. Despite wearing gloves, a scarf and a very warm woolly coat, the weather was unforgiving, and by the time Violet stepped into the thankfully warm store, she was shivering as badly as if she had just run through a snowstorm.
After a quick nod to the cashier, the seventeen-year-old stood in place for a couple of seconds with her eyes closed, enjoying the hot air blowing from the air-con. She then grudgingly opened them, and set forth hoping to complete her mission: locate ice cream, buy it and take it back home. A small, barely audible sigh escaped her lips, and she headed toward the frozen products aisle. If they didn't have strawberry cheesecake ice cream, she'd never hear the end of it. I don't even wanna think about it. Lost in macabre thoughts of ice cream-related what-ifs, Violet failed to notice the person walking in her direction, and entered a collision course that ended in an accidental bump.

We'll have the time of our lives

"I... sorry, I didn't see you there," Normally she would have snapped. But, she didn't mind Violet that much and wanted to leave a fairly good impression on the girl. She didn't know why... she just did. So, with a small smile, Krista quickly added, "Are you alright?"notes: none word count: 550 with code. tagged: violet cecilia halliwell && open outfit: clickiecredit: haley loser face ` at caution 2.0 for the template. status: done jams: time of our lives (miley cyrus) [/ul]

The bump was unexpected enough to make Violet let out a shriek in surprise. Before she even realised it, the sound had escaped her throat, giving unnecessary importance to a trivial matter, as she hadn't been hurt in the collision - merely surprised. A customer nearby raised his head to see what the disturbance was, but quickly went back to his shopping list. A red tint spread over the teenager's rosy cheeks, inflaming them further; they already had a pinkish hue to them, courtesy of the differences in temperature between the street and the store, and now it had got worse, thanks to the embarrassment she was feeling.
The identity of the victim was still unknown to Violet, but not for long; even before she took a look at the person, a familiar voice called out her name in a questioning tone. "Oh, it's you Krista," she said with a sigh of relief. Bumping into someone was bad enough, but it being someone she knew made it just a little bit better. She shook her head as her new friend apologised. "No, I should be the one to apologise, I was distracted." That was a big understatement; her mind had long detached itself from planet Earth, lost in supposedly foolproof plans of revenge. There you go again, Violet scolded herself. The ease with which she spaced out could be alarming sometimes, and this was one of those times. She smiled back at Krista. "I'm fine!" She emphasised her statement with a bright smile and a sweeping hand gesture over her frame.
A curious glance at Krista told Violet the other girl had not sustained any visible damage, and she let out a small, shaky breath she didn't know she had been holding. "Are you all right?" The concern was visible in her eyes, and she wanted to be sure.
Now wearing what she hoped was a friendly expression, the brown-eyed girl thought it would be a good idea to start up a conversation. Perhaps Krista had come to the shop on a similar errand, and if hat were the case, certainly they could both complain about their respective parents to their hearts' content. "Did you come to buy ice cream as well?" she asked, chuckling maliciously at her own private joke. Krista, of course, had no way of knowing why she was chuckling.

Her dad had wanted her to make friendly with the girl... she highly doubted that accusing Violet of being guilty would classify as "friendly." "No worries... I've been kind of distracted all day." She stated slowly. Krista slowly gave a small grin. "So, I guess it's both of our faults?" It came out as more of a question, but oh well. Krista nodded once more as Violet said she was fine. "Other than the fact that I'm stuck running my parents' errands, I'm fine." She giggled slightly, her eyes shifting back to her bag for a second or two as she skimmed it once more for her list. Still no sign of it. Violet questioned if she were here to buy ice cream as well and then started giggling. Krista then raised an eyebrow, surprised as to why Violet was laughing over ice cream. She forced a small grin, rather curious. "Grocery shopping, really. But, if I don't find the list maybe I will just get some ice cream?" She giggled slightly, giving a small shrug. She hated shopping for groceries. notes: none word count: 473 with code. tagged: violet cecilia halliwell && open outfit: clickiecredit: haley loser face ` at caution 2.0 for the template. status: done jams: time of our lives (miley cyrus) [/ul]
