[/img] nice looking banner coming soon near you I Think You Wanna Come Over Ya I Heard It Through The Grapevine For as long as he could remember, Town Square had always been the place to go to if you wanted to randomly meet someone, whether they be complete strangers or old friends. Alex had already decided that long ago that the place was to be either really sacred to the upholding of the entire town as tourists and newcomers flocked to TS everyday while local residents visited often for shopping or to meet up with buddies. That was exactly what Alex was doing. Well then again, not really. He hadn’t made any particular plans with anyone to actually come and meet up here. It was just that he was beyond seriously desperate for some kind of social communication. For the past week Alex had been sick in bed with the flu and unable to leave the house. Therefore the only person he saw (once in a while) was his nineteen year old sister, who was barely at home to begin with.
But now that his cold was cured with the help of a week’s worth of chicken soup and Bently’s cough medicine, the twenty year old man was hoping for some contact with his friends. He would have liked to have called one/some of them, but his phone was down because he had missed the monthly payment deadline a few days ago [he was at home moaning and his sister had forgotten to remind herself to do it for him]. The next best thing of course, was to come here. Now, leaning against the stone water fountain, Alex was ready for anyone who could come up and say, “Hey! It’s you!” or even “Hey stranger! Nice to meet ya!”
It was a chilly day today, so the square was a little deserted. Alex didn’t mind though. It would be easier to pick out someone he knew, and considering that he lived in a place like this, basically everyone was on his “know” list. However it seemed that most of the people out today were either new residents or part of that tourist group from Texas that was visiting until Friday. Alex could have gone forward and introduced himself to one of them, but he didn’t. He wanted to catch up with friends, not meet new strangers who would probably lose contact with him after they left.

Maybe this time I'll be lucky, Maybe this time he'll stayMaybe this time, for the first time, Love won't hurry away Saturday evenings would always be filled by plans in Bridget's schedule, but not today. Somehow, there is no interesting event going on today nor did any of her friends asked her to go out. She knew that it would be just a waste of time to be spending the evening at home, watching television so instead of just chilling at home, Bridget decided to go out on her own. Which is unusual for her because loneliness is one of the things that she despised but yet, there she was, driving to the Town Square all by her own, singing to the song that was blasting on the stereo.
The minute she entered the ground of the Town Square, she saw how empty it is. Of course, there were a few figures walking here and there with a group of friends but unlike a normal day, the Town Square isn't crowded with tourists and locals. Whether to take this situation as positive or negative, Bridget wasn't sure. On the positive side, she wouldn't have to squeeze herself through the bustle of people but the bad thing is, the chance to bump into a familiar figure is slim. She got out of her Jeep almost immediately, scared that if she overthinks the situation, she would ended up driving back home.
One of the attractions in Town Square would be the fountain. Situated strategically in the middle of the square, it is the spot where tourists would pose and capture some pictures. So it is only logic if the first place Bridget would head to is the fountain. Upon making her way towards the fountain, a cold breeze made Bridget shivered. She quickly brought her palms close to her mouth and exhaled some warm air to her palms. Now it made perfect sense why the square isn't swarmed with people, it is an undeniably cold evening to hang out here at the square. Bridget was almost turning around to head back to her car when she saw the familiar figure leaning against the stone fountain. Her earlier thought about going back home completely vanished out of her head as she rushed towards Alex. "Hey Alex," she greeted him enthusiastically, her arms spread wide to lean in for a hug.

[/img] nice looking banner coming soon near you I Think You Wanna Come Over Ya I Heard It Through The Grapevine Maybe he should move. The fountain’s water was flashing onto him, and it was making the back of his outfit wet, which was definitely NOT a good thing in cold weather and especially since he was recently sick. But his plans where stopped however when he saw Bridget coming over. “Hey…” he gave a short reply before taking her and hugging her tightly. It was like seeing a long lost relative again considering the lack of personnels Alex had experienced recently.
He pulled back from the hug a few moments later and smiled into Bridget’s face. One of his bestfriends and the only person to have gone through the last few years of school with him, Bridget meant a lot to Alex. “So, what brings you here?”
What a stupid question. As if he didn’t know why she was here. People only came to Town Square for two reasons and only one of them applied to locals. But still he felt compelled to ask. It was like a normal thing to say, for example like, “How are you?” or “I missed you” (which only works sometimes and the two people have to have avoided seeing each other for some time).
Alex took a few moments to clearly grasp the situation around him. There he was, with Bridget, in front of the fountain. And yes, she still looked really pretty. Pretty? Was friends supposed to describe other friends like that? Alex normally didn’t think about these things. He had complimented her thousands of times in his head with those words and never once really thought about them. But today was different. Maybe it was because he had not seen her in so long – a sight for sore eyes thing. Or maybe it was because he really did think she was pretty. But of course, if it was the second, then Alex would have to squish that down and switch over to the first one. Bridget was not on the market and if she was, he was not for him.

Maybe this time I'll be lucky, Maybe this time he'll stayMaybe this time, for the first time, Love won't hurry away Bridget's face was so close to his neck while they were embracing, so she inhaled his smell. Of course, there's that smell of freshness at him. Whether it's a cologne or it is the smell of Alex, it seems like everytime they are together, he would smell like this. It's weird, she knows, to smell someone, let alone of the someone is your guy best friend but she can't help it. She loves the smell.
Her fantasy was cut off when Alex pulled away from the hug. She grinned back to him, her eyes flickering from his dark chocolate eyes to his pink lips. "I don't know," she answered his question honestly. With Alex, it is so easy to be honest. Maybe because they have been friends for so long. "This was the first place that came into my mind," she told him. Bridget used to come to Town Square all the time but once she started working, she would only come once in a month. She can't even remember the last time she was here.
She took a step to move next to him, leaning against the wet stone fountain like he is. "What about you?" Alex is atleast a foot taller that Bridget so, her head was in a level with her shoulder. "You're not waiting for a date are you?" she asked him in a mocking tone, nudging his arm playfully. The question made her think: when was the last time Alex had a girlfriend? Alex would usually ask her for advice when he found a girl he likes but it has been long since Alex brought up topics about girls. He is not the only one who's been single for a while, Bridget hasn't been in a relationship for months now. Somehow, all the attractive guys she met turned out to be commitment-phobic. She took a look at Alex. He is attractive, no doubt and he is a nice guy who isn't afraid of making commitment. Bridget shook her head quickly, vanishing the stupid thoughts in her head.
Bridget could feel the back of her shirt getting wet due to the surface she's leaning against. "Hey come on, let's sit there" she told Alex, pointing to an empty bench. Without waiting for an answer, she took his hand and began walking towards the bench, tugging him along.

[/img] nice looking banner coming soon near you I Think You Wanna Come Over Ya I Heard It Through The Grapevine What a scene this was. From any person's point of view, they would have guessed the two to be the sweetest couple in all of Brookside. Too bad they would be wrong. Yes. It really is too bad. Or at least, that's how Alex felt anyway.
"A date?" Alex laughed and looked down before looking up again. She's standing right here! was what he wanted to say next. But of course, he couldn't. "You know me. Always single." He gave a contented sigh before taking Bridget's hand and following her off from their spot on the fountain edge.
The benches here at Town Square were actually quite old, even if they didn't resemble it. Most had been recently painted over last year and almost all of them had carvings of people's names on them.
Soon it was him who was pulling Bridget along for as he walked a bit faster than her. The bench wasn't like far or anything, so reaching it was not a problem. Alex sat down first and tugg for Bridget to follow. He wasn't about to let her know, but he was going to create a romantic scene for the two of them. Maybe it was kinda weird to do so..but whatever.

Maybe this time I'll be lucky, Maybe this time he'll stayMaybe this time, for the first time, Love won't hurry away "Oh come on." Bridget rolled her eyes at his sighing. "Single is fun!" It is fun to be single but when you are single for such a long time, it makes you feel lonely. Yes, boyfriend do cause problems sometimes but atleast if she has a boyfriend, she will have a person whom she could go to after a long day, whom she could cuddle with when it's late at night. "Enjoy it while it lasts," she whispered, grazing her fingers lightly against his soft cheek.
She began groaning when Alex overran her. His legs are longer than hers so within a few strides, he was the one who was leading her towards the bench. She held her ground when Alex began tugging her. "Hmm.." She eyed the space left over on the bench. With a small smile, she took a step closer to Alex and sat on his laps instead of the bench. Three years ago, when she was in high school, this would be a casual move for Bridget but now that she has grown mature, she doesn't simple sit on people's laps as often.
"So, am I as light as I was in high school?" she asked, turning her head sideways so she can face Alex. Bridget is the one who people called late bloomer. It was only recently that her body gained curves, her hips and bust began to actually developed to shape like a real woman's so she is pretty confident that her weight has increased.

[/img] nice looking banner coming soon near you I Think You Wanna Come Over Ya I Heard It Through The Grapevine Bridget was always so optimistic. Alex liked that a lot about her. So when she "saw down" he didn't complain. It's not like she was too heavy or anything. True true she didn't weight the same as before (neither of them did - but that was normal) but Alex could easily support her now. Expect this time, instead of the usual laughter and chit chat, Alex felt himself turning red at the common gesture.
"Yep yep, still light as a feather." Was the attempt at a casual reply for Alex. He wasn't sure what to do next though. Grab her and snuggle/back hug her? No, Alex didn't think Bridget thought of their friendship as THAT close. Push her off? NO. Just plain rude. So what did they use to do back then in high school? Alex couldn't remember at the moment.
He took a good look around Town Square again. There was fewer people now and the tourist group seemed to have disappeared. He then looked back at Bidget and smiled.
"So...." He gave a playful innocent look while saying that. "What do we do now?"
And then he felt her slipping. Well not her slipping. Ok, yes she was slipping but it was because of him. Alex should have asked her to sit closer to him because now his legs were on a sloping figure and Bridget was quickly very very close to accidentally slipping...
Oh no. It was happening, another slide sent her falling and Alex quickly grabbed her waist to prevent a full slip down.

Maybe this time I'll be lucky, Maybe this time he'll stayMaybe this time, for the first time, Love won't hurry away Bridget scoffed as soon as she heard Alex's reply to her question. She knew that the answer would came out something like that since Alex has never really been mean to her though she was not sure which one she wanted, honesty or dishonesty that can makes her feels good. No matter what, she appreciated Alex's effort. "You liar!" She used her index finger to jab his flat stomach.
There was a silence between them. Bridget had a sense that just like herself, Alex was thinking about what he should say/do next. She could just stand up and go to sit next to him on the bench but she is much more comfortable sitting on his laps and she loves the feelings that she's having inside of her, the feeling of owning. Oh how greedy this Bridget, wanting Alex all to herself.
She was staring at the fountain when Alex questioned her."What do you wanna do?" she replied with her face looking clueless. Her attention diverted from the splashing water at the fountain to his face, or rather his lips. Bridget could feel her face getting nearer to his. Funny, after knowing him for all these years, a new feeling just suddenly arose in her.
Just when the moment was starting intense, she felt her buttocks slipping off Alex's laps. Wonderful, now she is going to land on her bums and embarrassed herself. Then, she felt firm hands around her waist, saving her from making a fool out of herself. Out of sudden, she broke into laughter. With the support of his arms, she pushed herself up and sit next to her. "Well Superman, thank you."She gave him a peck on his cheek to show him her appreciation.

[/img] nice looking banner coming soon near you I Think You Wanna Come Over Ya I Heard It Through The Grapevine He turned red almost right away. Both from the peck and the fact that he just grabbed his best friend’s waist, even if the intention for it was completely good and Alex could probably win in an argument over it based on who was right. But still, the fact was that he had just grabbed Bridget’s waist and he was sure she wasn’t nearly as impressive as he was, but he definitely wanted to pull her in and kiss her. Yes, kiss her.
It was too bad he couldn’t. Alex felt disappointed. He was pretty sure now that he had other feelings towards his childhood friend and maybe he was time to let them out. But then he was risking the fact of her gasping, mouth wide open and hand slapping across his face before she ran off into the woods never to be seen again.
Okay, so not the woods. But if that would be the case, and Bridget would be avoiding him, and he be doing the same in return. It was just too awkward. But then again there was the hope that she gasped with delight and hugged and kissed him and the cutest friendship in town since Mary Anne and Philip Miskin back then in 1856 would turn into the cutest relationship with the people doing things couples did and being hopelessly in love.
Yes, that section alone was worth every. Alex was going to do it. He was going to tell Bridget.
Sighing and smiling at his friend, he said, “Come on. Let’s go get some ice cream,” ignoring the fact that the day was seriously too cool to be considering having any kind of frozen desserts. He didn’t wait for Bridget to get off on her town though. Instead he took her, helped her up and then got behind her to perform the most epic backhug around the waist with his head muzzling on her shoulder ever witnessed by man. A very romantic pose and a fantastic way to get things going.

Maybe this time I'll be lucky, Maybe this time he'll stayMaybe this time, for the first time, Love won't hurry away Bridget grinned as soon as she saw Alex’s cheeks turning red, obviously ashamed by the peck that she had given him. Funny, after all the years of knowing Alex, this is the first time she has seen him blushing. Of course, there were times when his cheeks were flushed because of the cold weather or after P.E but those were different. It is cute, how she had caused him to blush just by a short kiss on his cheek. She wondered how he would react if the kiss was planted on his lips instead. Her gaze flickered to his lips immediately after that thought, imagining how it would feel with her lips pressed against his.
“Ice cream? Isn’t it..” her world were trailed off as he pulled her up before she could even finish her words. She was going to say that it would be more appropriate to have coffees instead of ice-creams, since the weather is quite cold. The fact that he was so eager to get ice creams forbid her from continuing her sentence, if the thought of having ice cream can cheer him up, then Bridget would just follow his way.
Instead if leading her to a store that sells ice cream, Alex went behind her. She was clueless of what he is intending to do at first then, she could feel his arms wrapping around her waist. Bridget is still puzzled of what he is trying to do but to have him standing so close to her with their bodies linked, all she could do is to keep this memory of them in her head and never erase it away. Her pulse is quickening, she could feel it as she placed her hands on his arms and pull them away from her waist. She let his hands go and took hold of them again once she spun around, so she could face him.
Gently, she placed his hands on the small of her back. Without any hesitation, Bridget wrapped her hands around his neck, her fingers grazing the end of his hair. She smiled and pressed her lips against his lips with her eyes closed, waiting for his lips to part, so her tongue could explore the inside of his mouth.
