OUTFIT

One thing Emily could change about her was the fact that she was an early riser. She was a morning person and everything but she became restless easily. She could never go back to sleep. It was still pre-dawn when she woke. She jumped into the shower and got ready to go out and do something. She was not going to stay stuck in the house till the rest of the family got up. After she got out of the shower and changed she headed out to the stable and fed the horses and gave them new water. Once that chore was done she went back into the house and made herself a bowl of cereal and watched the local news. She soon became board of that too. She had just gotten her license about two days ago so she could really go anywhere she wanted. There was one place she thought of that sounded enjoyable.

Emily grabbed her keys, camera, glasses, and her purse as she made her way for the door. It was now about seven thirsty and the light was still good. She drove down the long drive and made her way onto the main road. It did not take her long to get to the lake. It was not far from the ranch. Really she could have just walked there but the light would only last so long.

Once she parked the car and got herself together in the car she preceded towards the lake. The early morning light started to become a pit gloomy. She could tell rain was on its way. She started taking pictures as she made her way up the shore. She liked the look the gloom clouds gave to the nature around her. As Emily walked up the lake she noticed a girl walking her way. She was wearing pink and waving. Emily couldn’t really make out the girl but she still waved back. Emily had no doubt it was probably one of her sisters many friends. They probably though Emily was Lauren. It wouldn’t be the first time.

As Emily got closer to the person she recognized who it was. Of all people. It was Kristina. Also known as the major’s daughter and currently Lauren’s best friends. Of course that left Emily tagging along when she didn’t make plans with her friends or wasn’t trying to form her band. She could only imagine what this encounter was going to be like with Lauren not here. She continued to walk forward though. She had nothing to lose really.

They both stopped about four feet away from the other. Both had frowns on their faces. Kristina was the one to make the first move. She slowly put a smile on her face. Emily’s mouth just stayed in a straight line. ‘Emily,’ she said it in a tone that was a lot more nonchalant then Emily was expecting. 'Morning... what brings you out here so early?’ She asked her. Emily lifted her hand slightly with the camera in it. “I just wanted to get a few shots in today before the rain came.” She told her in the same nonchalant tone she used. “Plus it gave me a chance to use my new truck. I got my license the other day.” She told her with a smie. "What about you?" She said trying to lighten the air up a little. She couldn’t say she was good at it. That’s why Lauren was always around.

[/b] She stated, softly. Her eyes glanced up to the sky briefly, then turned back to Emily. "Looks like the rain will be coming soon, though."

As if to demonstrate her statement, the breeze picked up and Krista shivered once more. She slowly pulled her hood up, letting her hair fall on either side of her head. "New truck? You'll have to show me." Kristina herself had her license, but at the moment her parents had a hold of them. She wasn't supposed to be driving. She got caught sneaking out at two in the morning a week or so ago and, in turn, was grounded. From driving, anyhow. She hadn't actually gotten a car yet... but that was another story. "Just taking a walk. Needed to get out of the house a bit, you know?" Krista shrugged, giving a more sincere grin. Boy was that statement ever true. She hated being confined in her house. "A little fresh air never hurt anyone."

‘That's fun,’ She said to her. Emily nodded her head. To Emily it was fun. She was pretty good at it. She also sketched but she found photography easier. Something that came naturally. ‘Looks like the rain will be coming soon, though.’ She said looking up at the sky. Emily fallowed her gaze up to the sky. It had gotten two shades darker then it had been before. “Ya looks to be that way.” She agreed.

‘New truck? You'll have to show me.’ She said to her. Emily nodded her head. "It’s nothing fancy. And it’s not really new. It’s new to me.” She told her. She knew that Kristina had a nice car. Key word being had. It was temporally taken away from her. Not that Emily was surprised. Well she was surprised it so long to get it taken away.

‘Just taking a walk. Needed to get out of the house a bit, you know?’ Kristina told her with a shrug. Emily nodded. ‘A little fresh air never hurt anyone.’ Emily was about to make a mean comment about her statement but just let it slid and nodded.

[/b] Krista commented, in reference to the rain. She enjoyed the fresh air. Clearly Emily did, too if she wanted to be outside to get some pictures. Or, at least, Krista figured that Emily enjoyed the fresh air. She could always be wrong.

"Oh?" A slight interest perked in Krista's voice as she studied the other girl for a second or two. She was curious about Emily's truck now. Lauren, her best friend, had briefly mentioned it the other day... but, Krista really hadn't paid it much attention. She had been more concerned as to what she was going to wear to the party later that night. Typical Krista. "When did you get it? Laur mentioned it briefly," She added after a second or two.

It struck Krista as odd that she and Emily were having a decent conversation for once. Usually, they did have... well, decent conversations, but that was only because Lauren was around. Lauren was no where to be seen at the moment, so it was peculiar. Krista wasn't about to point this out, however, it could very easily damper their moods. Why ruin it so soon?

‘ I hope it holds off a little longer,’ Krista said. Emily nodded in agreement. "Yea me too." It was awkward without around Lauren. She is who stopped them from going for their throats in the first place. She was surprised their bickering hadn’t started already. She didn’t want to be the one to start the fight anyhow. She wants to try and be mature.

‘Oh?’ Krista said when Emily told her that her ‘car’ more like truck was not that nice. It fit her personality though. And she did love it. ‘When did you get it? Laur mentioned it briefly,’ Krista asked. Emily started to wondered why she cared so much about it anyway. She probably just wanted to make fun of the old truck. She wasn’t going to let her win though. “Well actually it was my dad’s care when he was younger. I managed to fix it up. And well ta-da new car.” She said. She looked around the lake briefly. Expecting to see one of Krista’s friends. Nowhere did she see one. She was starting to get very confused about what was going on between them right now.

[/i] truck?"[/b] Krista questioned after a second to two. She felt herself being slightly disappointed at this, though she really had no idea why. What else had she expected? Emily and she had always been opposites. If Krista had said that it was up, Emily most likely would have said that it was down. And vise versa. So, it was no wonder that their tastes in vechiles was different. Krista herself had been promised a car for her seventeenth birthday. She was counting down the days when car pool would no longer be nessacary. Carpool was one of her biggest pet peeves. It was weird how the little things bothered her.

Krista quickly shook her head, interrupting her own thoughts as she studied the nearby area. She almost expected to see someone who was with Emily come down the shore. Or, someone to jump out from behind a tree and yell "you've just been punked!" But, neither of these things actually happened. Instead, a rather awkward silence shifted in and Krista found herself twisted the strand of hair even tighter. "So..." She started, her sentence soon trailing off. Only to leave an even more awkward pause. Great.
